Q: What do you think is unique about shooting makeup looks? Is it very different from regular portrait photography?
A: I think they are quite similar, as both require capturing the model's most beautiful angles and conveying the desired feeling.
Shooting makeup looks focuses primarily on the overall balance of the makeup effect and the delicate colors. It’s important to know the focal point, how to highlight the theme, and ensure that the makeup complements it.
Q: Do you agree with the statement that makeup reflects personality?
A: I don’t fully agree. To me, makeup is like different characters in a movie. Using various colors or techniques can create different feelings or impart character traits, offering many possibilities.
I believe everyone can be versatile; makeup is merely the feeling you want to present at that moment. While makeup can indeed express personality and uniqueness, it can also reveal another side of you.
Q: Do you have any personal makeup tips you'd like to share?
A: I always strive for a refined and clean look that doesn’t feel heavy. Eye makeup is the part I focus on the most, as it is the soul of the look.
When I do eye makeup, I pay extra attention to details and shaping. I recommend that if you want to try a more striking eye look, you should tone down the face and lips a bit to maintain the overall focus of the makeup.
"Makeup is an art; one must remain humble and continuously seek to add value and innovate without end."
